Brand New Facility for Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo!
Construction has begun for the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital located in the medical corridor in downtown Buffalo. WCHOB will be moving there upon completion. The state of the art facility will bring the utmost in comprehensive care to all of WNY. As part of its capital campaign, The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation partnered with Faces of Buffalo Community Art Mosaics and invited our community to create smiling self-portrait artworks. The portrait submission ended on Aug 15, 2016. Over 16,000 colorful smiles will unite to create a beautiful mosaic made from thousands of self-portraits drawn by patients and community members in WNY. Fundraising mosaic designs will be offered to help build the new hospital.

Community Art Mosaic as the Centerpiece for the Hospital Lobby

Up close you will see each colorful face; from a distance they will all unite to create one image! This history making mosaic will become the centerpiece of the new hospital and double as a fundraising initiative for the new building. It’s a wall of smiles to help lighten the burden of a visit to the hospital. Children & adults have made a personal investment in the new hospital through simple, creative art.
